Default Reporting a stolen unlocked iPhone... IMEI#??

Unlocked iPhone in Canada on Rogers network; is there any point for me reporting the phones IMIE # as stolen to Rogers or Apple??

story: my dumb-ass sister ended up "losing" her phone over New Years. I think she put it on a table and someone punked it, but who knows. Shitty part is that it was a 3.9BL all set up by me for her as a b-day gift... We already called & text'd the phone offering to pay face value for it, but I'm sure whoever has it already dropped in their SIM. anyhoo, should I bother reporting, or should I jest let whoever "found" it have a kick ass new years present?

but since it's a hacked phone can rogers do anything to block it? Since anyone could have taken it, what if someone uses it on another carrier other than rogers?

don't you guys report stolen stuff to the police???
where i used to live, we used to report the stolen cellphones to the police, they would make an FIR and send the IMEI to all network providers to block.

    coming back to your problem,
you should call up rogers to have them block the IMEI and Your sim (you don't want an inflated phone bill).
Rogers should then pass this information to other Networks and your imei should be black listed.

Rogers (and Fido, owned by Rogers) is the only GSM provider in Canada.
