    Default Repair Needed...on and off!

    Hi all,
    My friend has this iPhone:
1.1.3 OTB. We unlocked it using Ziphone 2,6. Everything went well...but after 2 days, it started acting up strange...

The signal would go off and "no service" would come up and stay that way for about 1 hour and then phone would return to normal. Sometimes the "repair needed" message also comes and goes. This happens on and off for about every 10 hours and then finally after about 2 or 3 days, "repair needed" message pops up and stays put.

When we restore it and unlock it, everything works....sometimes only the ICCID is missing, but most of the times its also there....Then slowly the same pattern starts again...what could be the problem?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Raaj

Have you tried doing a full refurbish on ziphone or just restore in itunes. If you havent refurbish the phone then go through the unlock process. Any times i have problems with a phone i do that and everything works great

you have a problem with your baseband, a lot of people is having the same problem (ziphone unlocks)

for some people erasing their basebands and reflashing has solved the problem, for some people dont and for some people after doing that process they end up worst.

whatever you do dont use ziphone to refurbish or reunlock, you can use iliberty and the erase baseband payload and after that the reflas baseband payload, itīs safter.

Laxdef: Yeah, tried refurbish too...but no go...

jsalva: thanks, i'll download iLiberty+ and try it out...I restored the phone last night after erasing the baseband and left it like that, like a virgin. Didn't jailbreak, activate or unlock. As of now, the ICCID is unknown. But the repair needed hasn't yet shown up. Thanks for the info :-)

BTW you can use bootNeuter to upgrade or downgrade or neuter your BL and reflash your baseband. that also worked for me on a friend iphone.

    Hope you can fix it.

If you have problem like that put your phone in DFU mode (restore to 1.1.3 twice) then jailbreak+activate+unlock. then update to 1.1.4. run jailbreak+activation+unlock and install all possible payload (using lib+ or iplus don't use zIphone). Good Luck. Hope it help.

Ziphone Unlock method sometimes has this Problem

1- add i.unlock.no to your Source
2- install BaseBand Downgrader From "UnlockingTools" Folder
    3- Restore By itunes
4- Unlock by iplus Or Iliberty+ (Don't Use Ziphone)

you can also Download iphone Base Softwares From this Link

I'm having this same exact problem with a phone I unlocked via iPlus2.0b. It's 3.9BL phone, and was working flawlessly for a month.

Then, all of a sudden, it did exactly what rajpotula wrote. Nothing new had been installed for weeks. Nothing caused the problem to start.

Restoring and re-unlocking hasn't seemed to help. It's still losing signal.

    Any ideas what's going on?

As of now, I went with what you guys suggested....

I restored the phone to 1.1.4 (it didn't have ICCID after it was done)
Then used iLiberty to jailbreak, activate and unlock it.
The phone has already been downgraded to 3.9 BL using Ziphone earlier, so did not tick that option.
I added the "erase baseband" "reflash baseband to 04.04.05_G" payloads

well, the phone is working fine....for now....

will let you guys know how it turned out....

Thanks all for your time and advice.... :-)

    Regards,
    Raaj
