Recovering photos from my iPhone?
A few days ago, while on vacation, i accidently deleted an SMS thread on my iPhone. So as soon as i got back i stopped the automatic backup (so it didn't overwrite my old backup.) However, during the restore from backup process, i remembered that I had some photos on my Iphone that I took on vacation. I stopped the restore from backup process, but my photos on my camera roll were no longer there. Is there a way to scan my iphone with some data recovery software? I have tried many ways to mount it as a hard drive, but none of them seem to work. Or it works and the data recovery software doesn't see it. any suggestions?
Check if you have iTunes or iCloud backup of your iPhone first, if you have either of them, try to restore with previous backup.
iTunes and iCloud will automatically back up your iPhone even if have not done it manually. iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your iPhone on a daily basis as long as your device is:
Connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi
Connected to a power source
iTunes can create backups of your iPhone automatically when you sync with iTunes (disabled if you have iCloud backup turned on).
Still haven’t found your iPhone backup? These are still other methods to recover deleted photos on iPhone.

I collected two methods to recover deleted photos from iPhone:
Method 1: Restore from your iCloud backup
Restore from your iCloud backup, if you used iCloud to backup your phone, see iCloud: Backup and restore overview, or estore from a backup you made with iTunes on your mac or PC.
Method 2: recover with iPhone data recovery software
Even the data was deleted from iPhone, but it is still stored in the NAND flash drive, with iPhone 5 Photo Recovery, uses can easily restore deleted data from iPhone, read this article: How to recover deleted photos from iPhone 5.
Suggestion: It is highly recommended to have a regular backup for your iPhone in order to minimize you’re lost of iPhone.
If your iPhone data are indeed gone, I would suggest you try using iTunes in order to restore your iPhone data (including photos)from the last time you last sycned your iPhone with your iTunes. Here is about how to recover deleted photos from iPhone.
Here are two easy methods to recover data from old iPhone :
One. Recover data from iPhone via iTunes.
1. Connect your iPhone with iTunes on computer
2. Right-click or control-click on the iPhone icon under iDevice on iTunes
3. Select "Restore from Backup" from the given options
4. After it finishes, your data are back to your iPhone
Important Note: This works only if you have made a backup for your data on iTunes.
Two. Recover iPhone Data without Backup by using third party iPhone Photo Recovery Software
If you have no backup for your data, you can download iPhone data recovery software in order to overcome the problem and restore iPhone data loss. Still you have not recovered lost data from iPhone, some on-line applications also available which can be helpful in restoring precious data details, probably will be able to find the solution to some extent.
Hope it helps.
