Question is QuickTime or iTunes required to jailbreak?

I have to jailbreak an iPhone 3G (2.2) on a windows computer however I cannot install iTunes or QuickTime on it, does anyone know if they are required to jailbreak or can I just download quickpwn and be ready?

No need to have those two installed.Just have quickpwn and the firmware file for the jailbreak.

Mmmh not to sure on that one..

I think you may need iTunesHelper (runs as root on both computers when you install itunes. It detects the device connected via the usb)

I have always assumed you needed both....so much as so in the early days and most of today, you need itunes to get the iphone running through linux for DFU(Etc).

Only reason I ask is because back in the day I used ibrickr for 1.1.3 jailbreak and uninstalled QuickTime during the process witch didn't allow it to work untill I reinstalled it, however I remember the author of ibrickr did illegaly use apple files so maybe it was just that one. Idk anyway I'm gonna try it later when I get home from work and post the results if not I'll just wait for my new computer to come
