Hi, i just got an iphone, i was wondering if i could manually activate it for free then sign up for an att plan later or does manually activating it blacklist you from att? I am already under a family plan and from what i can tell ill be able to stay on that plan but will have to pay an extra $20 for the data plan rather than having to sign up for a whole new plan correct? thanks, anxiously waiting on the answer!

Jailbrake and activate, then no need to unlock if you have a newer ATT sim

I did that last night and have been using my att sim. Now if i want to actually get the unlimited data plan from att do i simply just restore it through i-tunes? restoring a jailbroken iphone (not unlocked) wont brick it correct??
