Has somebody tried to update the US iPhone to Firmware 1.1.2 with the T-Mobile SIM in it? Any success in activating/using the phone with the FW 1.1.2 and the T-Mobile SIM and the US iPhone?

Doesn't seem to work:

Updated 1.1.1 iPhone with valid T-Mobile contract (business contract incl. Web'n Walk 5 GB "flat" too) to 1.1.2, iTunes and iPhone tell me that I'm using an invalid SIM card which is not supported. I tried another two T-Mobile SIM cards (none of them pay per go, all of them with contract) and they don't work either.
I suppose only certain SIM cards validated for the new iPhone plans work with the iPhone, so bad luck for current german T-Mobile owners with US iPhones.

how naive are you? Did you really think that would work? Everyone knows that didn't work in the us with other AT&T cards...

My dear friend (or should I say Ex-Hackint0sh user?): I am an iPhone Moderator if you weren't aware of it and I have five(!) iPhones on my table right now, one with fw 1.1.1 which I'm using on a daily basis and the other four iPhones for experimenting and trying to find "solutions", incl. helping out people with problems in the forum.

What I did was an experiment I wanted to share with others, I wanted to save myself the time to try it, this is why I asked first but since nobody replied...

I accept an apology, otherwise you're toast. Amen.

Btw: I'm 43 and trust me, I'm the most "tolerant" moderator here. This is the only reason why you're still a user. Sam or others would have deleted you without a comment by now.

I am using German CongStar net on 1.1.1
To me it *seems* that i could use octoprep, then update to 1.1.2, then jailbreak with the new touchfree and then use the panysim 1.2 ( patched anysim 1.1.1 ).

Right ?


So we won't need to use a "tricked" activation like 997TT tried...

But i am too chicken too try myself :-)

If you already unlocked your iphone with anysim or ipsf it should survive the update, right? But I don't know for sure.

So you need only jailbreak your 1.1.2 iphone after upgrade.

Is there a new touchfree available?

I'm trying a couple of different approaches right now, including the touchfree method.
Still having issues with messing up the baseband from the last approach, virginizing it seems to be a problem.
