[Problem] My Camera Wont Take Pictures
Guys, I need your help! my iphone 1G won't take pics. When I click to take a picture and then check out the pic in camera roll, I see a blank picture only. What do I do?

Try a restore. If that doesn't works, replace the camera module

You mean, do a full restore? But I got all my custom settings in place on my phone. If I restore now, it'll take me 4 or 5 days to re- customize all my settings, etc. Do you know if I can backup my phone by taking a "snapshot" it before restoring it?

Just restore the whole thing on itunes or if that doesnt work get it replaced if you have it insured.

taurusx5 you might wanna check the permissions of the pics folder(/DCIM) in /private/var/mobile/Media and reboot before restoring.Try setting it to 0777 with winSCP.Maybe this will fix it.

Don't restore your iphone. All you have to do is install MobileTerminal from Cydia and type the following:
chown mobile:wheel /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE

This is a common, well documented, problem and its solution does not require you to replace the camera module. It is a software problem, not hardware. The best solution is to:
install MobileTerminal from Cydia and type the following:
chown mobile:wheel /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE
This will fix the permissions and solve the problem.
A restore will also fix it but as you have your iphone set up the way you like it, just fix the permissions as stated.

Exactly.
No matter what the problem is,if the ultimate solution is a restore,u should be willing to check a solution that two members posted, which might work and save u all the trouble.
