[problem]iPhone 2G, cannot sync or stay connected to computer
I had my 2G 8GB iphone for a while now, just recently updated to 2.1 using quickpwn, however after upgrading multiple issues came up.
1. Cannot use cydia, tried to open the program, but it closes by itself.
2. Cannot Sync at all with iTunes, as soon as it starts to sync, after 3-4 mins, will disconnect from computer. (this process repeats itself continously, and the scanner and camcorder wizard kept popping in and out also.)
3. Sometimes when it couldn't sync it will show that my disk (iphone hdd) cannot be found. (i.e., LiQuiDation (my iphone) disk cannot be found).
4. A lot of apps does not work, tried to open, will close by itself.
Right now these are my issues, but my main concern is with its sync abilities, did my upgrade to 2.1 messed up the phone?
Please help!!! I've been stuck with this problem for the past month, and I couldn't find any solution to this at all.
Oh btw, if anyone knows how to turn off the auto-start for scanner and camcorder wizard (on windows XP Home) that'll be GREATLY appreciated too!!

You should never update with itunes.
To use new firmware after having a jb phone.
You must dfu restore to 2.2, use quickpwn to activate.
Sync phone with itunes to get contacts.
This will give you a fine all working phone.
An update to a jb phone kills the filesystem because apple tries to wipe out the jailbreak.
Autostart settings are changed in the windows app for those devices.
You can search google it will help.
Good Luck

its very important to follow these steps
shift click restore to 2.2 in itunes
very important part - setup as new iphone, NEVER restore from backup.
now pwn it and everything should work
sync it to itunes so you can sync contacts and other info but never restore from backup this is proven to break apps and cause odd problems or quirks.

Hey guys, thx for the info... i tried to restore using dfu mode, but no luck..and when it's in DFU mode it won't stay connected to the computer either... now whenever i connect it to my computer, itunes will say error "iTunes could not connect to iPhone "" because unkown error occurred (0xE8000035)." And a new error "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "" because an invalid response was received from the device." ... this one is new..
Then the iphone just keeps on trying to connect and disconnect to the computer..... i'm gonna go crazy...
