YouTube playback stopped working today

Hello -

A friend of mine just told me that (all of a sudden) YouTube movies stopped working on his iPhone. He asked me to check on my iPhone - I get the same results ("This movie could not be played" pop-up).

I've found that most movies won't play back, but some (like a few in my "History") continue to work. For example, choosing one of the "Featured" movies (such as "Creation") isn't working.

I just tried rebooting the phone - problem persists.

We're both running firmware 1.0.2 (unlocked with iUnlock, using "theThreeFiles1.zip" for YouTube activation stuff).


Is anyone else seeing this?

Can anyone confirm that YouTube playback is still working for them? (esp. the "Creation" video I referred to in my first post - and esp. something that isn't already in your History)?

im having the same problem.. I can play only a handful of the videos and the rest said "the movie could not be played" I'm running 1.1.1 with the jailbreakme.com method. I replaced the 3 files with the in the lockdown folder. Still not working

anyone have a solution???

1.1.1 unlocked with anysim 1.1, coming from a 1.0.2 unlocked with unlock-fast and virgenized and updated to 1.1.1

only few movies will play

its not working on 1.0.2 either, and it was just working last night, I bet the server is just down right now as I doubt they could implement or even have the right mind to disable Youtube to unlocked phones. It would really be just shooting themselves in the foot to disable a quarter of all their Iphones from playing youtube.

Well, when I was on fw 1.0.2 like the guy above, I used the three files, and still no YouTube.. Just Featured, History and Bookmarked, no Search or Most Viewed...
I asked lots of guys, some iPhones just came back all of a sudden, the same way it was gone, but mine had never worked... I did a restore, ran Pacay, AppTapp and then unlocked with anySIM1.0.2 (1.1 didnt exist)
And so YouTube got back working...

I've emailed a friend who has an un-modded AT&T phone and asked him to give YouTube a try. I'll reply with his results.
