Work-around the lack of Multimedia messaging
Alright, I'm not happy with the lack of video/picture messaging... that is one of the things I used the most on my T-Mobile Dash (which by the way I miss a lot but I'm hoping iPhone catches up to the rest of the apps)
I figured out a work-around that allows me to send pictures to friends and this is by using their carrier's phone email address.
For example, my boyfriend is on t-mobile... so I added his t-mobile email to his contact on my iPhone and now I can send him pictures through email but he receives them as multimedia messages on his Dash (of course I could also send him email but most of my friends do not carry the internet plan on their cell so they will only accept MMS)
These are the three carrier emails I know of.. if anyone knows others please post here (as with verizon you need to make sure this is the multimedia email... some carriers have 2 different emails for text and multimedia)
1) T-mobile: 1+areacode+number@tmomail.net (ie: 13055557788@tmomail.net)
2) Verizon: 1+areacode+number@@vzwpix.com
3) AT&T: 1+areacode+number@mms.mycingular.com
So now you just need to ask your friends what company they're with and create that email address in your contacts so you can MMS to them anytime :)
Setting up MMS receiving on iPhone
Does anyone know the setting to put into the mail app on iPhone so that you can receive MMS msgs on the iPhone. When people try to send them to me, I don't get any msg at all, not even the text from the MMS so it would be nice if we could setup our mail with our 9digit#@mms.att.com mms email addy and actually receive them.
