I have an unlocked iPhone running 1.0.2 and I use iBrckr to transfer files back and forth. I want to know what directory music is kept in on the iPhone because I want to manually put some on it. I don't keep my music in iTunes so I would prefer to manually transfer the music instead of syncing with iTunes.
So again what directory would I put stuff in to play on my iPhone?

Music is stored in /var/root/Media/iTunes Control/Music . However, iPhone won't play music you put there without it also going into the database on the phone (under /var/root/Media/iTunes Control/iTunes). Some open source projects out there, like gnupod, can read and write to this database, but you'll have to do some research on the state of the tools out there.
You can't, it's a proprietary database. While you could put your files in the iTunes_Control folder following their naming scheme, they wouldn't show up without entries in the database. Long story short, it's just easier using iTunes, if it's even possible ATP to do it without iTunes (like with another prog, don't think they're compatible).
Thanks for the info. I really thought I read somewhere that you could do it manually, but I cannot find that article/post now.
