upgrade to 1.1.2 ?

ive been here all day looking through posts and threads to upgrade form 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 and am totally confused....

am I able to connect to itunes press shift restore... then upload 1.1.2 firmware or is it really more complicated than that..

Thats part 1 of 10 steps.

You must then downgrade to 1.1.1 again, install BSD/OpenSSH...terminal (via ssh) the anySIM on your iPhone, Update again to 1.1.2 , jailbreak and execute anySIM.

After that, you may need to replace the Lockdownd file with updated patched version.

i have come across something called oktoprep... if i install this can i then go to itunes to update.. or are there more complicated steps if so thanks for your time... and i might just wait till there is a more simple application....

If reading the post above worries you, then I'd advise you to wait!

Oktoprep is a step you perform before the upgrade to 1.1.2 via itunes to make sure that the jailbreak can work once you're there. It's only one step of many.

My expedience:


1) I restored my 1.1.1
2) activated and jailbreacked with jailbreakme.com
3) installed anysim 1.21.u and run
4) installed Oktoprep
5) Updated to 1.1.2 with itunes
6) jailbreaked with jailbreak (with the mac (or win) files that you can download)
7) and installed iWorld (in tweaks 1.1.2).
Now I habe the modem version 04.02.13_G

The first time i updated my 1.1.1 and ran on 1.1.2 the anysim 1.21.u .... the result, apple and black screen.

thanks looks easy... when i get to step 6 where do i find the jailbreak for windows... do i have to install it somehow???

I unlocked the iphone over 1.1.1 with anysim 1.21u (installer rep.frenchiphonecom), and when i upgraded to 1.1.2, it worked (remember install weaks).

Becareful with 1.21u. I upgraded to 1.1.2, id didn´t work, then downgraded to 1.1.1 and did these steps.

Maybe the anysim 1.21u only works with the new modem firmware.

Nope, you got it backwards. Anysim 1.21u only works with the new baseband. That means you need the new baseband in 1.1.1, unlock it, then upgrade.
