Update on my 2G problems. Wifi/No calls in sleep.

Today I finally did it.
Replaced the coms board on my 2G.
Wasted over 300 man hours dicking arround with the s/w.
Taking it back and forth thru various versions of itunes and firmware.

In sleep mode it would not ring.
Wifi refused to work.

Now everything works.

Took me 30 minutes and 70$ with a board off ebay.

Now only problem is it keeps poping up a msg saying this device was not designed to work with the phone should we enter airoplane mode. The pop up vanishes after a few seconds.

Anyway nice to have everything up and working.
My 2cents guys dont waste your time dicking arround with the s/w.
nothing will come of it. No matter how hard you wish it would.

Any suggestion on a good comm's board source?

I've been following your postings for quite a while and it appears that my issues almost completely mirror your experiences. So I think I am ready to do a comms swap.

Also, if you have any good postings, or references, on the best way to go about this process please post them too.

I have the same issues you were experiencing and tried everything with no success. I'm also ready to do the coms board swap, but I don't trust ebay sellers and especially when it comes to microchips like Comms board. Who can I trust as a seller, and do you have any references or instructions on how to install the board?
