UK Iphone Help

now I 'm not very tech savy but my friend is and he has agreed 2 help me unlock it if I can get some instructions on how to do it........

I brought the iphone from the uk today on the apple site. I was told that it will come in 2 days and then I would have 2 activate it by the itunes. It has the lastest firmware on it.

How can I unlock the phone for a normal 02 Sim card or any other sim card?

and

if I do not activate the fone with the new itunes sim card, can I still use the system as a normal ipod?

You need to wait for a hack to be released, the hack for 1.1.1 took over a month so be patient.
