Trouble buying iPhones @ Apple Store (more than 2 at a time)

Anyone else having the problem of Apple Store employees refusing to sell more than 2 iPhones to you at a time?? Any advice? I read that you can buy up to 5 per order online, but I was hoping to buy in the store. For those of you that buy "in bulk" to unlock and give to friends or abroad, any advice on how to buy in bulk for that purpose?

There has to be something illegal by Apple refusing to sell to customers just based on the "suspicion" that everyone that buys more than 2 or 3 phones at a time is committing some sort of "crime" (in Apple's eyes). That's ridiculous. Thanks for the input.

purchase 1 at a time, then go in to the store 15 or half hour later to purchse another one........and another one........and another one........
or just purchase on Apple.com (that's what I did, purchase 5 and Fedex 2nd day)
