Touch screen not working

Ok So I searched earlier threads about this problem and found some things...I'm just wondering if anyone else has any new advise. About two days ago the icons on the bottom row of my iphone stopped working...it was as if the touch screen was dead in that area. At first I restored my phone. Then I decided to pwn my phone, this didnt work, the bottom row was still dead. I then searched the forum and found a plist I could add to increase the screens sensitivity. This helped a little but it still is dead on the very bottom row. This doesnt make sense to me at all because I can still slide to unlock my phone, which makes me think that it's not entirely a hardware problem but a software problem cause why else would it work to "slide to unlock" and not work when I try to push on the voicemail icon, recents, or contacts. Can anyone help me out? I'd appreciate anyone's input. Thanks!

Its a hardware problem. Some things work just because the coverage area on the software side for the touch to access the feature is more.
Depending how much area of touch you lost you may be able to get a trick that will get it back to you. See the link below for how to get it workig (its about changing the sensitivity settings)
