My 2G iPhone was in 1.1.3 and I try to upgrade to 2.2...I got stucked in recovery mode and I got a message saying that my iPhone need repair. What should I do???
1. Get the iPhone in DFU Mode.
Get the iPhone into DFU mode. When in this mode the iPhone screen is black.
1. Connect the iPhone and your Mac/PC
2. Shut down iTunes
3. Hold Power/Sleep until the red slider shows up, slide to shut the iPhone down. If this aint work hold Power/Sleep and Home until the iPhone shuts down.
3. Hold Start/Sleep and Home for 10 seconds (I count like 100, 200, 300, ..)
4. Let go of Start/Sleep but keep holding Home until...
5. ... iTunes starts up and finds an iPhone in restore/recovery mode. The iPhone screen is black.
then you can try to downgrade your iphone to 1.1.4
And then Downgrade your baseband
And then go up to 2.2
or
Good luck
Note: Get the iphone into dfu mode info taken from volkpost post
First doesn't work because my iPhone has the cable and the iTunes logo...I try to hold and put in recovery mode (BLACK SCREEN), the iTunes pop up and show me this message:
AN IPOD HAS BEEN DETECTED, BUT IT COULD NOT BE INDENTIFIED PROPERLY. PLEASE DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT THE IPOD, THEN TRY AGAIN. AN UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURRED (2001). What Should I do????
Are you running mac ls x 10.5.6 ???
Use iliberty and go to advanced section connect phone and hit dfu mode and it will put it in to dfu mode than go to itunes restore than unlock.
no no no dont use the software DFU entry... it causes more problems
while in recovery mode with the itunes logo, hold home for 5secs, then power and home for 10secs, then home for 10secs.. DO not let go of home
itunes should detect in recovery mode.. or you gotta try something a little more eccentric
