anyway if you can why not ask for another replacement?
I can't unfortunately.
update: 1.1.4 does not resolve the problem. call would drop and no service would appear shortly after unlock. sadly.
also tried with the new firmware 1.1.4. Its really strange. It worked again for several hours, no dropped calls after 5 min, 20min, 30 min sleep. Called 5 min ago, and it did not ring. I had the same behaviour after uprading to 1.1.3, It worked for several hours. So it cannot be a hardware problem, right ?
disable gprs/edge and try again and see if problem persists ;)
edge was disabled, has nothing to do with this.
i was having the same problems with my 1.1.3 otb unlocked by ziphone.
when i originally unlocked it i got a an error msg saying "ziphone returned: 1"
but everything seemed to work (phone, safari, youtube, maps etc.)
so after reading this thread i decided that maybe that error is causing this..so I restored
the phone and ran the unlock and got the same error msg. so i restored again and used
ijailbreak instead, I didn't get the error msg and so far it works. signal strength doesn't
fluctuate and i've been testing all day yesterday and today and i get the call.
seems like a long shot but it's working. hope this helps.
if i run into the problem again I will post.
Can it be related to a bug with the airplane mode.
I have the feeling that the problem with my phone may appear when I plug it to a JBL speaker station and the iphone gives a message about switching to airplane mode:
My phone has worked for a few hours without trouple with call in sleep mode and this morning, my wife put it into the JBL station. When I saw that, I unplugged it, tried to call the phone and I was directed to the voicemail.
After this, I did the airplane mode on - soft reset - airplane mode off - soft reset and it is now 2pm and the phone is working very well. I know it is not long enough to say that problem is solved, but it is just an idea!
did you try to install imapldle via the installer?,it's good workaround for this bug!
yes i tried, but it drains the battery as fast as the powermanagement-file workaround.
