Calendar Recovery
Hello I've been having a little trouble getting my old calendar back on my iPhone. It isn't saved as to my address book, so its only connected to my iPhone back up. So how do I restore my iPhone to a different back up? I'm on a PC and there is no easy way of simply extracting the calendar, so I figure I will have to set up a few things again. I tired the restore button, but it tells me that I would have to update it and I don't want to update. I tried shift+ restore but couldn't the location of the back ups.
thanks

Hi I had a bad trip with my ipod touch. let me explain, I upgraded my 4g from ios5 to io6 and decided to enable icloud backup instead of the itunes backup i had previously set in place. the restore and isntallation of ios6 took more than 5 hours and a half - finally i got my new ios 6 but my ipod would constantly restart after that. I am most worried about my calendars. while i can access the calendars, the ipod is basically useless (due to randomly and automatically restarting),
I have my calendars also saved on my iphone 3G (iOS 3.1) which is in good condition. My idea is to restore my ipod to factory settings using itunes and thus restore the backup itunes created for my iphone calendar to my ipod touch. None of the devices are jailbroken.
is what i am trying to achieve viable?

Are you syncing your calendars on your iphone 3gs with Exchange or iCloud? If so, you needn't worry as you can always enable exchange/icloud sync for calendars on your iPod Touch - this will bring your iPhone calendars to your iPod Touch.

Edit: oops, just saw you have a 3G running ios 3 and not a 3GS. In this case, you would need to restore your ipod touch with itunes from a backup made of your iphone. Although, I am not sure how would an iOS 3 backup affect your iOS 6 and whether if at all that is possible.
As an alternative, use some third-party method to back up your existing iPhone calendars to your PC and then use the back-up files to restore your calendars to your iPod Touch - you wouldn't need use iTunes and restore in that case. Have a look at the
