POP3 mail giving SSL error message on 1.0.2

I have restored my iphone to software 1.0.2 and now can't use my pop3 account with BT.
Keeps giving me the following message every time I try to setup an account;

"cannot connect using ssl"

Any ideas and urgent help would be very much appreciated.
