Pop mail account - outgoing mail problem (o2 Ireland)
Unlocked 1.02 upgraded to 1.11 then to 1.12. Everything is working fine.
I am in Ireland on a bill pay with o2
I have set up a pop email account on my iPhone.
The incoming is working fine but the outgoing wont send at all.
I keep getting the following message when trying to send a mail...
Cant Send Mail - Check the account settings for the outgoing server "smtp.o2.ie"
In my outgoing settings i have the following...
smtp.o2.ie:25
username (email account ID)
password (email password)
in advanced settings i have the following for outgoing...
Use SSL - OFF
Authentication - Password
Server Port 25
Am I doing something wrong?
I spoke to o2 this morning and as helpful as they were they werent able to sort me out. they did confirm the outgoing port SHOULD be 25, they asked me to try it with SSL both on and off but still gave me the same error... She did suggest that perhaps the unlocking process could be an issue and could be the culprit!
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Or is there a way to ammend this by SSH'ing into the phone?
