No internet = no sync???

My office has decided that employees don't need to visit the ITunes site and and has it blocked. I started out with 1.0.2 and 7.3 ITunes and everything still worked fine. I could sync my music and Outlook and life was good. Now that I'm on 1.1.1 I have to use 7.4 ITunes. Now when I connect the phone ITunes says it can't connect to the ITunes store, check my connection and try again and I'm stuck with a big empty screen with just "IPhone" in the middle. WTF??? My Ipod still syncs fine. Do I have something hosed up or is this the way the clever guys at Apple have decided it should work?

try taking the sim card out and see if it by passes that. the only time iv gotten that is when it wasnt activated quite right.

did you do lockdownd or iAsign?

Taking the sim out didn't change anything.

I had a phone that was activated by ATT (long story, Apple jerks...). So all I had to do was jailbreak it, load anysim, and when I inserted my sim it told me it was activated so I figured I didn't need to copy over the new lockdownd file. You think that's the problem?

you might have to reboot then do it with no sim, it could be something to do with the activation but hard to say. you would think you wouldnt need the internet to get into your phone.

the only reason i ever had itunes do that to me before was from the unactive ATT sim/ bad iAsign. i think that the new anysim does the equivalent of iAsign on what ever sim is inthe phone during it, trying lockdownd is an option.

hope this helps, im not running 1.1.1 so i cant test an internetless connection with it but im certain iv done 1.0.2 without internet.
