iPhone won't charge suddenly!!??
I don't know what's going on, but tonight I plugged in my iPhone (to the A/C adapter at first) and it refused to charge. This is an unlocked 1.1.1 iphone that I upgraded from 1.0.2 several days ago. It did give me a message at one point as I jiggled things around about not recognizing the device or something like that? I tried to connect to my PC (and then to my Mac laptop) via USB and no go on either of these.
Everything else is working fine. I can still SSH/SFTP in, apps are working fine.
I read in several threads that some charging problems were associated with lockdownd, but I double checked and re-replaced that file with the 1.1.1 patched version and reloaded the charging service via UIctl. Just to double check, I tried loading the unpatched original 1.1.1, which stops my SIM card from working, but the phone still wouldn't charge, so I'm not convinced it's a lockdownd problem.
I tried getting the phone into restore mode to talk to my computer. There is ZERO communication between my PC and the iPhone though. At one point about 25 mins ago I was able to briefly get the connected then disconnected ping sounds from my PC by screwing with restore mode stuff (holding power/home for 10 seconds, then just home after that etc.) but I wasn't able to actually get it to restore. I have been unable to replicate that again since.
Help!!! My battery level is low so I only have a bit before it totally dies. Am I missing something? Is there anything else I can do? I don't believe it's my hardware, especially after reading of several people with similar issues that didn't seem to be broken hardware, but their issues were all either PC charging or A/C charging wouldn't work, mine is both right now. The fact that I did briefly get it to bleep-bloop implies that it's not totally fried.
Any suggestions??? I am at a loss - I have looked at the threads which all suggest some lockdownd issue (which I've already verified is okay - unless somebody has a copy of the 1.0.2 lockdownd they want me to try?). Once the battery dies I'm afraid I'll be screwed.
