Has anyone brought a SIM-Clone Machine,
put the att sim in and copied some of the info from it for the iphone.
then put there sim in copied the iphone data to it?

i think there is a code on the sim to make it work. eg like the network codes on nokias (505-02, etc)
but then connect to your network.

Be sure that your phone is unlocked, to be sure that SIMCARD8 will be accepted at your mobile phone.
A cloning machine will do exactly that - clone. So the new cloned sim will be identical to the original including the subscribers account details. By the way, SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module - see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subscriber_Identity_Module

I have a question. Does anyone know what happen if you activate it by itunes with att&t and right after that you cancel your contract, are the iPod/wi-fi features still available the same way as the DVD John method but instead of hacking the iPhone/itunes? Or the next time you try to sync with itunes it will ask for the activation again?

Once the iphone is activated, then service is cancelled.. all the iphone functions will work minus anything att service related. -Digitol-
That is my idea, see if I can trick the iphone into thinking that the sim card is an AT&T one, but I am not sure to what extent it checks the sim. Will know once my sim reader gets here later this week.
But I suspect that the phone might check the network is i.e. 505-4 and fail it that way. I have a few spare sims I will try this with and see how I go.
My iphone is activate with AT&T and the sim card working in other phones just not my international one working in my iphone YET.
