iPhone sim card causing phone to overheat and drain battery
I have an iphone 2g (original iphone from when the iphone first came out). The problem I am having is that the phone is overheating and the battery is being drained in about 30-45 minutes.
The first step I took was I purchased a replacement battery, took apart the phone, installed a new battery, and the phone worked. But then, I was getting the same problem. The phone would begin to get warm, then hot, then hotter, and then in about 30-45 minutes the battery was totally drained. So, I did some searching online and found similar posts on various sites that pointed to the fact that the old sim cards are the problem. I am using my old old old cingular sim card in my iphone and with it I am seeing many of the symptoms others had posted included missed calls when having full service, overheating, and battery draining.
So, with that said, I was wondering what the best solution is. I am currently using an old Motorola Razr (and I hate it after using an iphone for 2+ years!!!)
I did some searches on Hackint0sh's forums although I came up empty handed, so I decided to post. Thanks for your help!
