iPhone 3G stuck in recovery mode loop, no backlight

My iPhone 3G with firmware 3.0 is stuck in a recovery mode loop where it shows the apple sign then the "connect to iTunes sign" with no backlight. It only does this when plugged in, but when not plugged in it does nothing. I cannot even get it to turn on.

I have tried everything to getting to come out of this recovery mode. I have tried putting it in DFU mode to restore, I have tried jailbreaking it with redsn0w but it gets stuck at "waiting for reboot". I have tried the shift+restore on iTunes and tried to restore to 3.0 . Please help me.

I did that but it didn't do anything. It just still said "Waiting for reboot"

Since yesterday, I have the same problem....

I have here two 3G 8GB, and its doing the same thing, either it's "waiting for reboot" or it says "done" but the iphone screen stays like black or dark blue.

I have searched the forum but nothing found. :(

first let me say i know basically nothing about the Iphone except changing parts out.
But i had one that was stuck in recovery mode.
I downloaded tinyumbrella fired it up, had the phone plugged in.
A button on it said something like kick it out of recovery mode.
I hit the button and boom it kicked it out of recovery mode.
I do have a back light problem on the phone still but it not stuck in recovery mode.

oh yea i didn't even know the firmware version on this phone and it showed me that as well.
