Iphone 1g No Sim Card Installed Message

Hi guys. I know there are a lot of threads out there with pretty much the same title, but my case is sort of different. I recently acquired a used 1g iphone, and decided to use it as an ipod touch. I synced it with itunes, and updated my firmware to 3.1.3. Now, Whenever i turn on the iphone, i get the message "no sim card installed, insert a valid sim card with no pin to unlock and activate iphone",and under that it says "slide for emergency." How do i get past that screen, and remove that message permanently? By the way, there really isnt a sim card in there, because i want to use it like an ipod touch.

Firmware: 3.1.3
Installed Baseband Version: 04.05.04_G-3.9_M3S2
Oh and the phones 2g, i made a mistake, sorry.

jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.2 or 0.9.4 - this will hacktivate and get you past the screen you are stuck on. Not a new question, please search next time to avoid creating unnecessary duplicate threads.
