HUGE help needed, stuck in restore loop

I just picked up an iphone a friend purchased for me in NYC...
i tried updating from 1.0.0 to 1.0.2 firmware..

my first 3 attempts ended with error 1603... and
i was getting the connect to itunes error while
itunes was loaded in restore mode...

in my 5th attempted it continued and moved on
to "restoring iphone software" and its been
going like that for 3.5 hrs... i tried again...
and i got the same result... its stuck in
a restore loop... a never ending restore and
the device boots with "connect to itunes"...

dunno what 2 do... did i brick?
im from asia so returning it to at&t
is not an option... (i updated itunes, switched usbs. pull
put the sim... EVERYTHING)...

plz help me.

i find it weird that you found a 1.0.0 phone in nyc now... what is the 4th and 5th digit of your serial number?

i tried its stuck on the "attempting to reboot device" for a long time...

restart your computer, change the USB port, fully charge the phone then try again

i restarted the box... changed usbs... and i did the proccess with
phone was fully charged...

dunno what else 2 do...

run apptap....it's a program that will fix your endless reboot....go to nullriver site and download apptapp and then run this program that will fix your endless reboot!!!!try it...

remeber to put your phone in recoverymode with the yellow triangle on the screen...when you swith on the phone before the enless reboot press both home and sleepwake button until the yellow triangle appear and then connect the phone via usb to the pc and run apptapp the program that you will need to fix solve this problem....give it a try...
