[HowTo] Charge iPhone & iTouch while playing PS3 or Wii

Sorry if this is posted before but i havnt seen it posted ever.
I found this neat little trick out there for those who own a PS3 or Wii and an iPhone.
If you want to do double duty and charge your iphone while playing your Playstaion 3 simply connect the usb white apple cord where the normal controller cord goes and it should start charging.
This should be helpful seeing as the Video Game Console sucks up massive power and it would be wasteful to just hook an iPhone somewhere eles in your house to suck up power some where else.
Please note that it is only while the system is on and not on stand by.
I found this helpful ever since i lost my orignal wall charger and dont feel like sitting at the comp waiting for my phone to charge :cool:.........

I wish i had a wii:( state side i still think there is a shortage, anways yea i thought would post this for those of us who dont want a crazy high power bill seeing as how the ps3 already eats power like a fat lady at all you can eat bufffet

No effense but isnt this pretty obvious? Any USB port can charge a iPod, iPhone, and also any cellphone that has a usb data cable. I have never needed to use anything other than the charging base to the wall, but when needed I will use a friends wii/ps2/ps3/stereo/directv reciever. Basically any device with a open USB port will do :). Granted the USB port has power to it ;)

yeah xbox 360 should work too

Yes it is :) but if you want to keep your iPhone & iTouch's USB alive, try to avoid cheap low cost devices with USB plug. (10$ Car FM transmitter, Speakers., etc..).
The problem with these cheap devices is that the Voltage regulator is cheap as well and can blow and let its input voltage go inside the USB ~12V-15V to 5V.

I don't think a Wii, PS3 or XBox360 is built with the same cheap components. :)
