If I just want to use my own phone for the push to work and not to transfer the cert to anotherphone do I have to bother with nimble and inject? I have the legit sim card and my own non legit sim card.
The hacktivation patches this behaviour so you can swap sim cards as much as you want. Then you can use inject to load the legitimate certificates you exported earlier. Finally you can unlock with ultra/blacksn0w
i recently jailbroke (again) with blackra1n and was reinstalling all my apps and stuff and absentmindedly installed the old pushfix file from cydia (the copy that's hanging around on another (spanish?) repo, not iphoneil.net)
after installing that i went to read up about it and realized what was going on with everyone having that same cert and uninstalled it. but uninstalling doesnt revert to my original cert it looks like.
my question is, did that now corrupt my original push certs? im using a legit att sim. my push still isnt working. do i have to do a wipe and re-activate in order to get my good original certs back - and if i do a restore, will i keep a new good set of certs or will it give me those used ones back again? starting to question if jailbreaking is worth it all...
thanks in advance for any response, this forum seems pretty helpful, it's refreshing.
iphone 3gs with 3.1.2 and att sim card
Im so glad I found this post, this sounds exactly like what I need. I was hoping someone could help me though, since the guide seems aimed at users who have both unlocked and jailbroken phones? I have new Iphone 3gs, it has the new bootrom that required me to use a tethered blackra1n jailbreak. I am activated on at&t though, and have not unlocked my phone. I am having trouble with push though and getting that message telling me to connect to itunes to enable push. Do I still follow all the steps of the first post, or are there some I can leave out since my phone is through At&t? Whoever figured this out is a freaking genius, I swear to god, it made me dizzy just reading that tutorial lol
Glad to see Push coming to 2G/3G/3GS
A quick question on the iPod copy to iPhone. What version of iPod touch is needed?
Can you use a hacked iPod touch to get valid certificates?
I can probably borrow the iPod touch of a friend, so this would be great to do!
Non-the less, you need to be able to retrieve the iPod touch certificates, which in my understanding means a jailbroken iPod touch.
Haven't read much on the iPod touch side of this forum... maybe I should read up first! ha
Yeah good point. I don't know if an OS 2.x iPod touch would work to generate certificates with.Quote:

Yes the device you get the certs from has to be jailbroken but legitimately activated.
I'm on a jailbroken and activated phone.. When you say reboot, i only need to restart the phone right? So i don't need to jailbreak again?
