Help buying a iphone
I ordered a iphone from international-orders.com and choosed to pay using google checkout, but google checkout doesnt list the tax.
I only payed $698,59 out of $746.28. The tax is $47 why isnt it listed in google checkout?
I've only payed for the iphone and shipping, how do i pay the extra $47?
I live in sweden and the store is american.
Thankful for all answers.
This is very basic, if something is shipped from the US to you, you will pay TAX when it arrives. (you might be lucky and not pay any tax, depending how busy your customs people are)
Thanks for the quick answer. Yes I know but I have to pay Californian local tax or whatever its called, and they won't ship until they have the complete amount.
I'm from Los Angeles. The way the sales tax works in America is each state collects it's own tax on items registered businesses sell to people in that state. If someone in California sells something to some one in New York they do not charge sales tax because they do not have to pay it to the state. So if you buy something and your from out of the country they don't have to pay tax to the state and therefore should not charge you sales tax. of course they can do what ever they like in reality but they shouldn't and most likely won't.
Thanks for answering.
I have to pay the tax, its included in the prize. But google checkout won't let me, i have already payed $698,59 and the tax was $47 and google checkout now thinks i have payed for the phone and is now monitoring shipping status, but i have to pay the extra $47 but can't figure out how.
This is what it lookes like:
Just a receipt and shipping status. You see "skatt: USD 0.00" that means tax 0.00.
Please help! :/
You don't have to pay the tax, as stated above. The only thing you may have to pay is import tax, when it arrives at customs in Sweden
Yes i do have to pay that. They just labeled is as tax, i mailed them and they said i had to pay $47 wich was labeled as tax on their website but google checkout wont let me pay the rest.
So isn't the problem theirs (The phone seller)? If Google checkout doesn't automatically add it - then why didnt they just add it into the actual phone cost and then not settle with Google themselves?
It isn't supposed to be this difficult and I understand the problem you have. You should speak to them and ask them why it isn't being added automatically or else suggest to them that they create another order for some fake item and charge you $47 for that and you just pay that as a separate transaction.
Dimsum thanks alot for your answer. I mailed them yesterday (saturday) and asked if i could pay the remaining $47 via paypal or something, but i guess they are closed on weekends :(, guess i'll have to wait another 24h for answer :/. Thanks alot, im gonna ask them that.
Hope you paid by credit card.
