I didnt know it was possible to kick the iphone out of DFU mode...
Hi All :)
I just found your thread. Am having a problem getting the data from a continuously rebooting iPhone to recovery-mode.
I wrote it all in the next link
http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60910
I tried to work with iRecovery, but can not get it to run.
Sadly enough i do not own a Mac. Win and SuSE-Linux for now.
Can anyone please help? ChronicProductions, volkspost?
I really need the info from my iPhone, and think it should be possible to get to is...
It seems an fsck problem.
Thanks a lot in advance, :)

at http://chronic-dev.org/blog/ check the "Mirrors" link and there should always be at least one mirror you can download a built binary of iRecovery for Win32 from. alternatively you can download Microsoft Visual Studio C and build it on windows. if you must, you can try going to dfu mode then using ./iRecovery -f to upload an ibss then use ./iRecovery -s to communicate with it and see whats up
I am trying to quit Recovery Mode on an iphone 3G that went to it without reason. Tried fsboot but it still returns to recovery mode. This is the output for the printenv :
] (Recovery) iPhone$ printenv
config_board = 'n82ap'
loadaddr = '0x9000000'
boot-command = 'fsboot'
idle-off = 'true'
boot-device = 'nand0'
boot-partition = '0'
boot-path = '/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches/kernelcache.s5l8900
x'
display-color-space = 'RGB888'
display-timing = 'optC'
P bootdelay = '0'
P backlight-level = '28'
P platform-uuid = <DATA>
P auto-boot = 'false'
image-version = '0x3'
framebuffer = '0xfd00000'
secure-boot = '0x1'
Hope someone can help. Thanks.
Leo I have the same problem: with sfboot command (using irecovery) I can boot correctly my iPT but when shutdown and power on the device return in recovery mode (I still see Steve Jobs with hands up! :fail )
Someone can help us?
thank you!

great! I found (thank to mbrooksr on modmyi forum):
After fsboot command the system is up, so I opened an ssh session and with the following command I have resolved:
nvram auto-boot="true"
Now my iPT boot correctly!
:)
For my 2nd gen Iphone all I do is run winpawn
Then when it shows you the screen saying ready to restore custom IPSW. Just reboot the phone and your up and runing.
With all your data intact.
yes, i had to use irecovery because the regular trick didnt work... here are the exact steps i took for anyone else with this issue:
1. download irecovery (i used the windows version) as stated above by chronic.. Chronic Dev Blog
2. run "irecovery -s" in a command prompt with your iphone hooked up to your computer via USB
3. run the coomand 'setenv auto-boot true'
4. then run 'saveenv'
5. then run 'fsboot'
voila
Hello friends!
My 2G iPhone is stuck on the iTunes logo with usb cable screen. I try to restore it with any firmware but iTunes always hangs on "Waiting for iPhone" with the iphone showing the apple logo.
I used this commands but always back to recovery mode screen :(
