I see that is confirmed in the new firmware features thread!
Sorry!
Heh, I tipped off Boy Genius and this seems to be spreading like wildfire
If you have got the new iPhone SDK, you can find the youtube webplugin on your own...

So does that mean when clicking youtube links it will play in safari instead of loading up in youtube.app?
I'd much rather prefer a flash video plugin. I want to watch familyguyx.net on my phone. Youtube is nice and all, but its VERY limited.
Does that mean you can try it out using safari on the interface? if only I had my mac with me now! lol
Can someone try it see how it is?
Just a thought - if the 1.1.4 plugin structure is the same as on the beta then couldn't we simply SSH the plugin into the right folder and use it
on our existing firmware?
You can try if you want... here's the plugin from the SDK:

But to be honest I doubt it'll work...
mikro, I tried it in 1.1.4, and, while it is awkward, it opens up the YouTube player when you want to watch a video in YouTube. Here is what I did:
1) Went to www.youtube.com in MobileSafari;
2) Tapped on the video that I wanted to watch;
3) It then goes into the page with the video, but where the video is supposed to play, it has a link to Adobe stating "Get the latest Flash player."; I tap on that, and it takes me to the Adobe Flash Player Mac OS X download page;
4) I press on the back arrow at the bottom of MobileSafari screen (the icon at the bottom left of the screen - previous page icon in MobileSafari);
5) MobileSafari closes down, and the YouTube.app application for the iPhone starts up and plays the video that I chose in www.youtube.com!!
I am not sure if that was due to the plugin, but it works to play the video that was chosen in www.youtube.com in MobileSafari. It seems like it searches for the same video in YouTube.app and begins to play it!!
Let me know if there is something that can be tapped within the video clip page in www.youtube.com that will start up the YouTube.app app automatically!!
Its always done that.
