Customizing iPhone

Hello
I have been checking the forums alot, and I was very impressed by the looks you all have on your iPhones. It's just awesome whan u r able to do with it. Now i was wondering, being a complete newb at this, if you could explain a few things to me, or give me a link to a guide or something. For customizing my iPhone. I searched the forums and i didnt find a guide that would explain on how to:

* Install themes downloaded from the internet to my iPhone

* How to use .mp3 songs as Ringtones, not using SendSong(which by the way doesnt work with me)

* How to change icons on your Summerboard

I am aware that you can do this using WinSCP, I just dont know how, where and which files need to be copied. I dont want to mess up my iPhone.

If you have 1.1.2 OTB go to http://jailbreakme.com/1.1.2 to learn how to jailbreak, to install themes with summerboard or customize just install from the instaler, to use mp3's as ringtonessearch on youtube for videos on how to do it. To change icons on your springboard you have to SSH using WinSCP and change the .png file to whatever image you want it to be. Make sure to ALWAYS backup your iPhone.

i nnever really liked the themes so i make my own icons, and/or take icons from themes etc and use a background of my choice, its more individual that way

how do you back up the iPhone?
