[Collection] [1.1.3] Fix 10 problems of jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone

I know something is pretty old. But, I am just collecting all the problems and solution for 1.1.3 upgraded iPhone which hope to make it easier to read. See if it can help.

The jailbreak method for iPhone 1.1.3 is released. It is not a complete update to 1.1.3 but just soft-update. You will still get 1.1.2 baseband on 1.1.3 firmware. Anyway, you can enjoy those great features of 1.1.3. But, there is 10 things you need to know after upgrading to 1.1.3. Solution included for some cases.

Note soft-upgrade for iPhone only applies to bootloader 3.9, NOT for OTB iPhone 1.1.2 or higher (of boorloader 4.6).



1. Remove the huge 300MB file to save the space

You can manually login to iPhone through SSH, navigate to “/”, remove the folder “softupgrade”. Or, you can install the “1.1.3 Soft Upg. Cleaner” from Installer of iPhone.

2. Only 4 international keyboard available

NO FIX FOR THIS YET. I tried to replace the 1.1.3 UIKit Framework with 1.1.2, but it doesn’t work. Although you can set and choose more international keyboards under settings, the Maps and Safari will hang after you replace 1.1.3 UIKit framework with 1.1.2. Let’s hope for someone to help to add more international keyboard to 1.1.3.

3. Customize and Summerboard will not work

NO FIX FOR THIS YET. The customization tool, Customize and Summerboad will NOT work properly after upgraded to 1.1.3. No fix for this until they have new version. For those who planned to upgrade to iPhone 1.1.3, it is highly recommended for you to remove these 2 softwares first.

4. Ringtone may not work properly

Add “http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo” to the Installer sources. Install the “1.1.3 Ringtone Fix” will help. And all the customize ringtones can work by using the MeCCA patch.

5. Google Maps cannot locate where you are

Do not replace the lockdownd file of 1.1.3 to make it work. Simply install “Locate Me” or “Navizon” from Installer. Locate where you are using either of this 2 softwares, then open Google Maps and the virtual GPS function should work now.

6. International caller ID not match

NO FIX FOR THIS YET. People tried to replace the AppSupport file of 1.1.3 and iPhone hangs. Hence, the old method will not work for 1.1.3. You need to wait.

7. EDGE not working and settings is not saved

Go to “Settings” > “General”, choose “Reset”. Reset all network settings. It should work after all.

8. OpenSSH is not working anymore and cannot be uninstalled

Reinstallation of OpenSSH can help. Notice there will not be any SSH icon on the iPhone main screen under 1.1.3.

9. BSD Subsystem problem

Manually reinstall it through Installer.app. It is easy.

10. Applications disappeared after upgrade

This will happen if you have moved your Applications use this hack. Revert the hack by following commands shown in picture:

There's nothing about bluetooth problems, but i can't connect to my bluetooth carkit anymore.

Great to have these all collected in a single place. I also notice that the small red 'balloon' indicating the number of unread email messages keeps disappearing after respringing (generally after auto-lock kicks in). It comes back after briefly opening and closing the mail app. Similarly with the 'balloon' showing the number of updates available for the Installer app.

Number Six has been solved.

As for #6, even if iworld does not work for 1.1.3, I just updated from 1.1.2 (ran iworld in 1.1.2) and format numbers keeped in place and they are correctly identified when someone call (I am in Argentina).
I do not understand exactly why, since Appsupport did change (iworld also report it)...
For number #10 another solution is to use Bosstool, the same but easier.

Anyone noticed very little space left (30mb) after moving Applications, ringtones and wallpapers to \var in system partition?

I understand. If "+1234" calls you and you have "+1234" in your address book then the iPhone is smart enough to know that these phone numbers are equal. You only need a patched AppSupport if either of the phone numbers does not start with "+".
