many thanks for your tip. After patching the commcenter the bundle wored on iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.1, however I still get the forward calls message though I'm sure I set it to false in the plist file, I guess I need to install the patch for that too
I have noticed I have to take my sim out and back in and Data plus MMS will work but if I reboot the phone I have to do it again plus I have read that in other forums that others have to do the sameQuote:
<data>a bunch of random stuff inserted here
so I've been googling and googling and everything I've done on the carrier.plist was correct.
the last thing I found was that '/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle' was still pointing to "Unknown Carrier" though I've rebooted several times. So I did reset network setting, rebooted but settings were blank.
The last step that crossed my mind was to eject and reinsert the sim card. and guess what??!!! call forwarding is now showing now ;), I got all network setting filled automatically.
So I guess it's necessary to eject and reinsert sim card after injection of ipcc.
The only thing left now is MMS, though after resetting the network settings, I see all correct MMS settings, but still I can't send.
I shall keep posted with updates.
Another test, since I've done so much of file changes on my iPhone, I've decided to restore and do a fresh version.
so after restore, jailbreak, replace commcenter, inject ipcc. MMS now works, but FaceTime disappeared. LOL
I guess I'll wait for the generator.
What Carrier are you on I have seen only 2 #'s go in there so far AT&T's which is 28818773 and +447786205094 which is in the UK and I think all other bundles point to that (to confirm look in some other carrier plists to see what #'s they point to). Either way if that key/string is empty or not even in your plist FaceTime won't show upQuote:
if I inject a ipcc, how to uninstall/remove it from the iPhone?
so can someone dumb this down for me and my iphone 4? i am on an official carrier (softbank japan).
I previously had a 3GS and had tethering working up through 3.12 using a tethering patch from a custom repo in Cydia. All I had to do was install the tethering patch, then open my email where the custom MobileConfig file for my carrier was attached and open that, then reboot the phone and tethering would work.
