cant restore, even with DFU! help!

I have a jailbroken 3g 3.1.2, and when i woke up this morning, i had an error that said i needed to restore. When i went to restore, it could not recognize sim card. When i went to DFU restore, it extracts software, stops and gives me error 23. The only thing i tweaked with cydia, were themes, and a five icon dock. can anyone help?

This is a hardware problem, the best you can manage is to remove all trace of jailbreak and then take the phone to Apple for repair/replacement
