Hi,
I have spent so much time reading junk posts, comments and replies.
Can someone please either provide a link to an easy, detailed step by step guide to software unlock the iphone or create one and post it in this thread, or create a new thread.
Can they please include links, screen shoots etc to make the process easy as possible.

Ok Here you go please follow these steps if you have the IPHONESIMFREE not the free unlock I cant help you here iphonesimfree is easier so here are those intructions if you have that purchased one!
1. Restore your iPhone to 1.02 using iTunes if you have done anything to your iPhone
2. Download iNdependence (http://code.google.com/p/independence/)
3. Press Activate Does everything for you! (Jailbreaks and Activates Your iPhone)
4. Now Download Install.app! (http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/)
5. Follow those steps!
6. Now open iNdependence and go to SSH
7. Press Install SSH/SFTP/SCP
8. Now go to Customize
9. Press Applications then add the iphonesimfree app you downloaded from your order!
10. If iNdependence asks for your username and password when you add the app your username is- root password- dottie you can change these later if you want
11. Now boot your iPhone back up and follow the iphonesimfree app intructions!
