Bricked iPhone doing nothing? Need help please!
Hey guys, I really need some advice here regarding my iphone. I just picked it up 2 days ago (firmware 1.0.2) and unlocked it myself with anysim 1.1. It was all working great and all until I took it out of my pocket during lunch the day after. It was all working fine before and now the screen's flashing all garbled up.
I tried to hold SLEEP/WAKE button with the HOME button for 10 seconds for a hard reset but it seems like it WOUDL actually turn it off but it won't reboot. And the if I use the Sleep/wake button to turn it on, it goes back to the garbled flashing screen.
I then attempted to fully restore the phone back to firmware 1.0.1 (holding SLEEP/WAKE + HOME for 10 secs and then release SLEEP/WAKE and hold on to HOME). iTunes prompted me and I tried to restore. But at the screen "Preparing your iPhone", it would just freeze and the screen on the iPhone has that same garbled screen again, although not flashing. And end up with an error 1601.
Last thought, I attempted to leave the screen flashing to drain the battery, in hopes of using up the charge and then having to charge it for a full reboot. Right now the battery, I think is dead or almost dead, because the screen will flash only sometimes when I hold on to the SLEEP/WAKE button but sometimes it won't, and eventually, it just never turns back to the garbled screen. Anyways and then I attempted to restore it again and the same problem came up.
Any suggestions please? I would really love to head into Apple Store to see how I can fix this but I live in Vancouver and the closest one is in Seattle. And I already unlocked it, so I suppose the warranty's void as well? Anything helpful would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
