Approx time between 1.1.4 release -> 1.1.4 in stores?

Hi,

Im about to buy a iPhone sometime next week, but i dont know exactly when i will have to possibility to visit an apple store in NYC. If apple were to release 1.1.4 this weekend for example, canIi still be releatively sure that will get a 1.1.3 for the rest of the week if I buy it in store?

Anyone have any experience from 1.1.3 release?

I am talking about the iphones in the actual apple stores. I dont think they change the firmware on the iphones in stock, do they?

And if not, that would mean its loaded when the phone is manufactured in china or someplace?
That should give me at least a couple of days delay before I can by the off the shelf in NYC. am i wrong?

1.1.4 phones will hit the stores after 2-3 weeks of it's release...

Not sure, as I bought an iphone a week ago and I got a 1.1.2 phone.

There is absolutely no chance of there being a new firmware instore anytime soon as a) we're not even sure there is going to be a new one b) if there is a new one we don't know when it is and c) it always takes a few weeks for new OTB firmwares to filter in.

I got three week 51s just a week after the release of 1.1.3. They should all have been 1.1.2, but they were all 1.1.3 and still in the shrink wrap. They all came from Apple.

The only explanation is that Apple had opened them, upgraded them and shrinkwrapped them again.

This will happen again with 1.1.4 (update2). Since ZiPhone, the iPhone is wide open. Apple will do everything possible to lock it down again.

Ok now I'm confused. pretty different answers. anyone else?

the scheduled apple event on tuesday (26th) could be when 1.1.4 will be released along with the sdk, and if so it will be close.

2 friends of mine bought week 51 phones, one of them was even reasured by the salesman that it was a 1.1.3 phone, but when he brought it to my house for activating/unlocking, it was 1.1.2 (the other one was 1.1.2 but he had no info about it).
