Anyway to change the part number ?

When you hook up your iphone itunes checks your part number to see if it belongs to a particular carier / region.

In the early days. Airtell India would just activate any iphone. Now they have a new system in place that will only activate a phone if it meets particular conditions.

SO is it possible to change the part number or the IME number ?
To let apple activate it ?
Say my friend has a legit iphone would would happen if I entered his iME number onto my phone ?

This wont work. Apple uses a combination of hardware id's you can't fake.

so the ultimate hack would be to fool itunes into activating your phone for you.

Im sure better minds have thought about this route. But no harm in wishing.

this is why we have 3rd party software that activates for us
