[Advice] The secret features of the iPhone firmware
As far back as 1.1.3 we had the screen shot ability, but we didn't know it until 1.1.4. Now we have the save image ability unleashed, but we had it all along. The command to do it? NO. The interface command "touch to produce action request".
Incase you're lost, here's a shot of my 1.1.3 iPhone.
Holding the side of the screen on either side produces an "action" prompt that would do anything you wish if it knew how. They didn't stick any actions in there for you to do. In 2.0 they did......... they gave you the save image option.
I wish our talented dev's would take what they have learned (are learning) from 2.0 about the save screen shot function and finally give us the potential of all the firmwares from 1.1.3 to present. The hard part is already there, the interface.
It already knows you want it to do something, now just tell it what you want it to do. This interface command obviously opens up what apple has already got in their bag of tricks. I am sure you bring this action up on one of their phones and it copy's, saves, pastes, and does tons of other things.
Someone please work on scripting actions for this so we can use the functionality they have, but have not given us. They held the screen shot feature back from us for 3 firmwares, and it was there the whole time.
