[Advice] Cracked Screen/Not jailbroken/Remote App

Hey guys:

My friend dropped his phone and the screen cracked, where he can not use half of it. He is an angel AT&T customer,not has his phone jail broken, and has a lock code on his phone. So we can not enter the code when trying to Sync

Right now we are trying to recover the data, since it has been a while since he synced. I was looking to jailbreak it either Pwnage or Iplus? Will that erase his information on it? Maybe install a custom package to be able to remote control his phone, to turn off the pin lock and sync his data.

Not sure any assistance would help.

Remember his phone is phone is screen cracked, so it doesn't recognize any touching.
It has not been jailbroken yet.
He has a lock code on his device.

Jailbreak it with iLiberty+ (jailbreak only) and select OpenSSH and BSD Subsystem in the payloads, so you'll be able to connect to the phone and save the whole "/var/mobile/" folder.

iLiberty+ is not recongnizing the phone. Would I need to enter the passocde first, for it to recognize it?

Thanks XianLi. I was able to get this to recognize on iLiberty for Windows, but not for Mac. Weird. Anyways. I was able to jailbreak the device, but I could not install any other payloads. I got an

"Error communicating with device. Please make sure device has been paired with iTunes, also make sure device is in NORMAL mode. (which it is) You may retry once, if the problem persists, please restart iLibery."

If I uncheck BSD and SSh then it will work fine and jailbreak, but one I check nay payload I get the prementioned error.
