[Advice] Anyone trying to get their iPhone repaired?
Maybe this was posted 100 times before, but maybe someone will find it useful.
My iphone came with dead wi-fi and as a consequence fast draining battery. The problem was that I'm not from US so I had to wait for a few months for a friend to go there back again and try to replace it at apple store. Even though the phone was under warranty, registered, completely virginized, with original receipt, and with all contents in the box they (apple store) didn't want to have anything to do with it. They just looked at the serial number, looked for activation in their computer and as the phone was never activated, this was all where the servicing stopped. This was kinda strange to me because there is not a word about activation on the written warranty and apple explicitly say that your iphone doesn't need to be activated to receive repair service (check at http://www.apple.com/support/oss/).
So there you have it people from outside the states. Even though the chance to get a doa, or partly doa phone is rather small, I do suggest if you are going to buy an iphone to buy if from your local "dealer" so you can try if the phone is fully functional before you buy it.
