7R7 Broke My Heart

Today I unlocked a friend's iPhone.

Comparing it to my phone, I was shocked his screen is really bright, we are not talking about a mere difference here, I am talking a brightness like I had seen Jesus. :eek:

My god, I was fooled all this time along thinking my iPhone is perfect, I realize it's not.

I can't live with this burden I have to trade it or something... (God if I didn't have the customs apps, I could have probably switched the SIMs and phone without him ever noticing)

Anyway, It looks exactly like the 5 and 7 series screen differences seen earlier.

Mine is a 7S7 (much less bright)
His is a 7R7 (bright)

Has anyone found a solution to this please ? :confused:

Maybe change the default value of brightness but I don't know where to look.

Or you are talking about the contrast? I unlocked mine like 3 weeks ago. And last week I got 7 iphones to unlock them, and 6 of them had the screen with less contrast or something like that. The black were like a blue. Only one iphone had the screen like mine. But it had a protective case that I guess was bloking the brightness sensor cause the screen was very dark all the time.

I have a 7R7, screens really nice :)

Yeah off course, all what I said before was with both iphones' brightness maxed out.

Did you check out the link in my previous post. It looks exactly like that difference.

I donnu if that's contrast or brightness, but it looks nasty.

I noticed the same thing on a couple of iPhones I unlocked. One of them had the bad contrast screen (like the iPod Touch). FYI, mine's a 7T7.

Any workaround the community is aware of ?

(I am browsing like crazy in my iPhone trying to find where is that info stored)

The iPhone only exist of my perception of it. Even if the damn thing is fine. If my perception gets tempered, I can't rest my head to sleep until that bug is gone.

I don't know what I just said there, but yeah, I think I got messed up.

I got an 7R7 and must say the screen is just beautiful. I can't put the damn thing at full brightness as it's just too bright. From looking at the picture, even my 50% brightness is alot brighter than yours at 100%. =x

I remember seeing a little hack (can't remember if it's Erica) that changed the brightness menu into something else (maybe contrast).

I have gone thru all the post of TUAW and Engadget since June 29th but couldn't find anything (Yeah that's 3 months worth of iPhone news browsing).

Anyone can help me pleaase
