[1.1.3 (1.1.2otb)] Can't enter DFU mode

Hi all, I have a 1.1.2OTB phone that I upgraded to 1.1.3 using itines, followed by jailbreak, activation and unlock with Ziphone. So, I now 1.1.3 software with the previous 4_02 baseband. I would like to now do a restore to 1.1.2 to bring it back to 1.1.2OTB condition, however when I attempt to bring the phone into DFU mode, it perpetually ends up stuck in restore mode (with the connect to iTunes logo) and can only be kicked out of that mode by using iBrickr. I have also attempted to get the phone into DFU mode using iNdependence, however it goes into restore rather than DFU mode.

Any ideas what I can do to get the phone into DFU mode so I can actually restore a firmware now?

Note that I did try to search, but the forum search complains that 'dfu' is too short to search on ;) I have 4.6BL by the way.

Entering DFU mode can be tricky. You have to release the sleep/wake button at the exact time. Most guides only say something along the lines "...after 10 seconds". 10 seconds can be anything between 6sec to 15sec depending on how you're counting, right ;)

So, my own trick is this:
Hold sleep/wake and home button until screen goes black. If you look really really carefully screen actually goes blank and then a second after it goes REALLY blank. So you'll have to release the sleep/wake exactly when it goes blank the second time. It helps to look hard at the top left corner, that's where you notice "the 2 blankings" most.

You'll probably have to try about 10-15 times before you get it right. If there is anything on the screen at all, then it's not DFU mode.
DFU mode is entered once the screen is totally blank and iTunes still finds a phone in recovery mode. Anything else then a blank screen, you didn't make it, try again.

Hi guys - there is a much simpler way.

Search the internet for a DFU utility .bat

you execute it, and it puts the iphone in dfu mode.

On older itunes & iphone firmware versions you run it, and it directly puts the iphone in dfu.

On the latest 7.6/1.1.3, you put the iphone in restore mode, then run the utility which puts it in dfu.

Hope you dont mind the noob question. But what is the advantage to DFU versus retsore mode? I am restoring my OTB 112 via itunes but my option is only restore to 113. Is thsi really bad. or is 4.02 ok ? wht are your opinions?
