[1.1.2][Problem] Phone won't recognize UK sim.

Hi all,

I bought a new iPhone today and unlocked it using the ZIPhone software and the phone is reporting that its version 1.1.2

After inserting my current 3 UK simcard thats on contract, I am gettiing an error saying invalid sim card. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the iphone to accept the sim card? I have read in other places that other users have had similar problems, but I am yet to come across a resolve.

restore to 1.1.4 and run iplus, ilberty or pwned;) there are guides on unlocking just search the fourm

Thanks for the advice. I have restored to 1.1.4 and used both Ziphone and iliberty+ to unlock the phone on seperate occasions, and both continue to give me the invalid sim card error.

I cant try pwned as I only have access to a windows PC at the moment. Is anyone else aware of this error with the three UK network or possible know a way around it?

The three network is only 3G and, therefore will not work with the iPhone, since the sim card is not set up for 2G. Bad luck. Try a PAYG sim froim vodaphone or similar

So even tho the three network supports gsm networks when it cant get a 3g signal, their is no way ill ever be able to use it in the iphone? Strange to see that unlocking the iphone doesnt apparently fully unlock it :(

I think that maybe that is down to roaming settings and in areas where there is NO actual 3G it will get a 2G signal - but in areas where there is a 3G signal the SIM won't accept it.

Thats my guess!
