[1.1.1] Upgraded to 1.1.3 and it half works...
Guys, I know that this kind of posting usually stirs serious bad language, accusations of lying, etc, etc. but by letting the dev team know what has just happened to my iphone it may help them understand a bit more about the workings of 1.1.3 and in turn help every one else.
I have 2 iphones, both started with 1.0.1 and were upgraded to 1.0.2 and in November last year I upgraded them to 1.1.1 after doing a full restore including the baseband.
I tend to upgrade one of the phones first to see if it works ok before upgrading the other one so I always have a working phone.
About an hour ago I decided to upgrade the spare one from 1.1.1 directly to 1.1.3
and to my surprise I now have a working 1.1.3 (except for the phone part) including wifi, youtube, maps, etc.
Here is what I did;
Started by upgrading itunes to the latest version of 188.8.131.52.
Next I connect the iphone to itunes and downloaded the upgrad to the PC without upgarding the phone.
Next, with itunes connected to the internet via wifi I selected "upgrade" and as soon as it started to upgrade I switched the PC's wifi off.
Once the phone re-booted, I expected to see the usual message to connect to itunes to activate but instead, I gort the "slide to unluck slider" witha message superimposed saying that now I could change the position of the icons.
I slided the slider to unlock and I was shocked to see the phone fully upgraded except for for the phone.
By the way, if I place remove my vodafone sim it shows "no sim inserted" etc.
The only thing I have not done yet was to perform a cold start or connect it to itunes since just in case of becoming locked.
I am not sure if this information is of any use but it may be of help to the dev team or any one else. Any question?
