i have a iphone 1.1.1
- unlocked, activated, jailbreaked.
worked great since 10/2007.
but all of a sudden usb is not working anymore (no charging, no connection to itunes)
i will detect the iphone by pressing home button and plug it in. but i dont want to restore it back (cause all of the settings, activation, jailbreaking)
has anybody the same issues? is there a solution?

I had this problem a short time ago. I found by SSH'ing into the phone and replacing the lockdownd file from a factory activated 1.1.1 phone it done the trick for me. No idea why it was changed but it did. Worth ago...
Obviously if you can't SSH into your phone i would say restore is the only way to go.

I havnt got one myself mate im on 1.1.2 and think its different. Have a search about mate you should find one.

what was that lockdownd file for?
that exactly happenned to me too, i was afraid of activating DFU mode cuz if then i still can't connect, how would i kick it out of restore mode? anyway think i have a working 1.1.1 lockdown...how do i upload it?

You can upload it by installing ishare and using sendspace.com, with this you can send it to a specific email, so it would be nice if you could please send it to mine. Make sure itīs a 1.1.1 jailbroken lockdownd file (preferably not activated, dont know if that matters...but I guess Iīll take the risk and install it anyway). Thank you SOOOO much!
