Any offical word on the carphonewarehouse giving back the £100 to people who bought in the last 30 days?
It does talk about the typical proccess here:
Someone said they automaicly post it also?
Hopefully we wont need to be in the full o2 contract to do this - it legaly shouldnt matter as we bought the phone outright and paid for it there and then.
I have just bought an iPhone from O2, and am intending to use it with my vodafone sim. For the moment I am leaving it wrapped until I have made a more informed decision. So I have a couple of questions for the UK iPhone community:
Firstly, I will possibly never activate the iphone, how does this affect the warrantee? I think I am tech savvy enough to be able to re-virginize it if ever there is a problem, but I can't see myself going into the apple store say the headphone port is bust and show them an un-activated iPhone... Anyone know what the deal is?
Secondly I am not completely sure yet wether I want to use edge that much (and I am not subscribed to the £7.50 package). I helped someone else with their anysim unlocked 1.1.1 iphone and it wouldn't get edge on vodafone until I entered a user name for the service. Is this still true for a Pwned 1.1.4? the iPwnage tool says something about having better edge settings in the last update. Is there a way to disable edge when I don't want Mail to be eating my money?
Lastly are there any other foreseeable problems that I might not have thought of?
Thanks for any and all help on this matter,
If you dont activate the phone, I think that you loose any warranty. Because when you take the phone you agree that you will be going into an 18 month contract.
You can switch edge off if you install a program like boss prefs.
I have just been reading warranty threads, and there are severe disagreements. Apple states (on this website https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do) that Warranty is NOT dependant upon activation. However if they get scent that I have tampered with my phone, they would (understandably) refuse service. So as long as whatever problem it is I might have, I am able to virginize, then it's cool. but if my phone just dies and their magic recovery cable (which bypasses charging and other things) is able to turn my phone on and show I've messed with it, I'm borked.
Has anyone had experience with virginizing and getting service in the UK, how well did it work?
Is it just me or is no-one wondering why these are only discounted on the 8gb models?
Is there a chance the 16gb are already upgraded and are waiting a software release?
I think they are probs just filtering out the 8gb model. The o2 salesman was telling me that the 16gb is more of a niche product or some rubbish. But who knows.
I have two questions.
1. Is there a limit of how many phones you can buy, can you buy like 10 phones?
2. Are there any differences between US phones and UK phones?:p
1. I dont think there is a limit on the amount you can buy. I just know you cant buy them in cash.
2. No dont think there are any diffrences. I have a few mates that bought theirs from america and they work fine here in the uk
